Camberley, Surrey, United Kingdom Alfa Laval Corporate AB Full time

About the Role

Alfa Laval Corporate AB is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Field Service and Sales Support Engineer to join our team in Scotland. As a key member of our service business, you will be responsible for providing high-quality service to our customers, ensuring the reliable operation, optimum performance, and efficiency of our heat transfer equipment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Commissioning, servicing, and fault finding of new and existing heat transfer equipment.
  • Assist and train customer maintenance and supervisory personnel on how to operate our equipment and perform maintenance tasks.
  • Performing trial test runs to ensure performance rates and quality meet established specifications.
  • Providing process and technical support to the department and customers.
  • Meeting KPIs for the service team in areas such as submission of job reports and timesheets.

From a Sales Perspective

  • Work alongside Regional Account Managers to interpret the service department's sales strategy and develop plans to successfully identify appropriate customers and win opportunities within our chosen sectors.
  • Identify key decision makers and effectively present and sell the business along with its full range of unique selling points for each of our service offerings.
  • Manage the sales process from start to finish and create winning sales strategies.
  • Manage customer relationships and identify their relevant needs.
  • Support Product & Application Engineers with detailed and winning quotations for additional equipment, spares, and service.
  • Support the Service Operations Team to commercially manage projects from beginning to end.
  • Provide a high level of commercial awareness to ensure service agreements and scope changes are delivered in the most cost-effective manner.
  • Provide sales strategy input at internal and external review meetings.
  • Always strive to add value to our customers, building partnerships based on trust, respect, and flexibility.
  • Communicate effectively at all times and provide an unrivalled service experience, unexpected and beyond anything our competitors provide.

About You

We are looking for a highly motivated and experienced individual with a robust practical understanding and experience working on heat transfer equipment. You should have great customer relation skills to build, develop, and sell work activities and packages. You are curious about technology and applications in heat transfer. You are motivated to build long-lasting relationships and deliver excellent customer experience. You are self-motivated to work under your own steam and creativity. You are committed to your work activities – going the extra mile to ensure completion and service excellence.

Ideally, you should have completed a recognised apprenticeship or have reached a minimum level of technical training i.e. City and Guilds/NVQ/BTEC.

You must be able to demonstrate a strong working background in mechanical and electrical maintenance.

You are self-motivated, detail-oriented, and numerate. You must be able to demonstrate strong communication and interpersonal skills, good organisation and planning, and enjoy working alone as well as part of a wider team.

You should have a good level of competence with respect to electronic equipment testing, fault finding, reading schematic diagrams, and using PLCs.

Exposure to Alfa Laval core equipment would be advantageous.

Previous industry backgrounds could include wastewater, food and brewery, food processing plants, power stations, factory automation, marine, or military.

You should be able to spend several nights away from home as required. Due to the nature of the work, including the environment in which the work is often carried out, you are required to have a good level of physical fitness. A full driving licence is also essential.

The selected candidate will be located in the upper central belt of Scotland in order to best serve our customers at short notice.

What's in it for you

You will be joining a team and a company that makes a difference. Alfa Laval's technology is known for its high efficiency and energy-saving designs. You will go to work knowing that you are truly contributing to making the world more sustainable.

The Alfa Laval culture is open, informal, and supportive. We believe in diversity and equal career opportunities and encourage people to take charge of their personal development.

Alfa Laval UK&I currently provides a wide range of benefits, schemes, and initiatives to our employees including:

  • Holiday entitlement of 25 days + Bank holidays
  • Simply Health – Health cash plan available to enter worth over £2500 annually
  • Life Assurance – 4X annual salary when you remain in the pension
  • Training and Career Development potential
  • Cycle to work scheme
  • Tech scheme

We care about diversity, inclusion, and equity in our recruitment processes. We also believe behavioural traits can provide important insights into a candidate's fit to a role. To help us achieve this we apply Pymetrics assessments, and upon application you will be invited to play the assessment games.

This role will remain open until a suitable candidate has been selected.
