Key Responsibilities- Team Management and Development:
- Establish a clear structure, roles, and responsibilities for the commercial management team.
- Build and lead a high-performing team.
- Provide regular training and development opportunities for staff.
- Promote a culture of contractual and commercial awareness within the team.
- Commercial Delivery:
- Ensure adherence to the framework contractual requirements.
- Liaise with customers, representatives, and stakeholders on commercial issues.
- Develop and maintain the Framework Risk and Opportunity Register.
- Identify and manage change within the framework.
- Cost Management:
- Understand and manage allowances for elements of work.
- Embed a culture of cost-effective delivery.
- Identify and implement cost efficiencies.
- Forecast future expenditure based on anticipated work volumes.
- Value Management:
- Ensure all weekly value is captured and reported efficiently.
- Work collaboratively with the Contract Director and customer to ensure visibility and realization of future work volumes.
- Identify and manage potential disputes.
- Financial Reporting:
- Monitor and report cash, revenue, and cost positions across all cost centers.
- Forecast trends and facilitate management intervention where necessary.
- Provide accurate management reports on a regular basis.
- Supply Chain and Procurement:
- Support procurement activities to ensure best value procurement.
- Manage the supply chain within acceptable commercial and operational parameters.
- Lead procurement events and initiatives as required.
- A comprehensive level of commercial experience, preferably with a contracting organization.
- Demonstrable expert knowledge of contract procedure, particularly those applicable to the NEC suite of contracts.
- Demonstrable leadership capacity with excellent communication skills.
- BSc or HND in Quantity Surveying or other equivalent construction-related subject.
- Relevant CSCS card.
