We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Training Manager to lead our team of dedicated instructors and trainers, fostering a culture of continuous learning and development.
Key Responsibilities- Oversee a team responsible for designing, developing, and delivering a variety of training programs, including onboarding, technical skills, people skills, compliance, and management development.
- Evaluate the effectiveness of training initiatives, ensuring they meet the evolving needs of the division.
- Guide the team in creating engaging and impactful learning experiences that drive employee performance and growth.
- Oversee the learning needs analysis process to assess the knowledge, skills, and behaviours necessary for effective performance across the business area today, but also prepare the workforce for the future.
- Work closely with the Operations Service Manager to develop and implement Learning and Development strategies that support the organization's short and long-term goals.
- Promote a successful Health and Safety culture, striving towards our zero-accident ambition and achievement of EHS objectives.
- Maintain regular and effective communication with the Resource Team, assessing trainee competency, providing updates on training plans, and supporting current and future training needs based on operational priorities.
- Proven experience in Learning and Development, or a related field, ideally gained within a port or similar environment.
- Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and influencing skills, with the ability to engage and collaborate effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
- A strong understanding of adult learning principles, instructional design methodologies, and learning technologies.
- An analytical mindset with the ability to collect, analyze, and interpret data to inform decision making and measure the impact of learning initiatives.
- A training/instructor's qualification such as RTITB/NPORS, or learning qualifications such as CIPD, as well as a full UK driving license, as travel is expected within the role.
