Job Title: Nursery Chef

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Nursery Chef to join our team at JEM Childcare Solutions. As a key member of our culinary team, you will be responsible for preparing and serving healthy and nutritious meals to our children.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and cook meals for 70 children, ensuring high standards of food safety and quality.
  • Develop and implement menus that meet the dietary needs of our children, taking into account any allergies or special requirements.
  • Manage kitchen operations, including food production, storage, and waste management.
  • Lead and motivate a team of kitchen staff, providing guidance and support to ensure excellent service delivery.
  • Monitor and control kitchen costs, ensuring efficient use of resources and minimizing waste.
  • Maintain accurate records of food inventory, menu planning, and kitchen operations.
  • Collaborate with our childcare team to ensure seamless service delivery and high standards of care.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience in a similar role, preferably in a childcare or education setting.
  • Food and Hygiene Level Certificate Level 3 (or at least a Level 2).
  • Proven experience as a Chef, with a strong background in food preparation and kitchen management.
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a team.
  • Strong knowledge of kitchen operations, food production, and culinary techniques.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, maintaining attention to detail and high standards of service delivery.
