About the Role:
We are seeking a highly skilled Strategic Planner to join our Planning Policy and Implementation Team in Torfaen County Borough Council. As a key member of our team, you will play a crucial role in shaping the future development of the area and delivering the Council's regeneration and growth aspirations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Contribute to the development of the Replacement Local Development Plan, working towards the Preferred Strategy stage.
- Provide expert advice on planning policy and legislation, ensuring compliance with current regulations.
- Collaborate with colleagues to deliver the Council's growth and regeneration objectives.
- Develop and maintain effective relationships with stakeholders, including local communities and developers.
Requirements:
- Recognised degree-level qualification in Town Planning or equivalent.
- At least 2 years' experience in planning policy, with a strong understanding of current planning issues and legislation.
- Ability to travel to meet the needs of the service.
- Commitment to fostering equal opportunities and customer-oriented service delivery.
