About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Design and Development Engineer to join our team at CV Library. As a key member of our engineering department, you will be responsible for supporting the implementation, execution, control, and completion of specific tasks within key projects.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Support project leaders and operations as directed by the Technical Director-Plastics.
  2. Work within the PDE team to design and develop new and improved products and processes.
  3. Support the prototype, pilot, and industrial phases of all projects, across all facilities.
  4. Conduct component, product, and performance analysis throughout the programs.
  5. Collaborate with the Design Manager to debug products and components to ensure maximum sales potentials are maintained.
  6. Identify and mitigate risks that could directly impact the likelihood of success.
  7. Develop and implement product specifications, FMEA analysis, Quality Control Plans, and regulatory testing for new and revised products.
  8. Create and deliver project work plans and revise as necessary to meet changing needs and requirements.
  9. Provide product knowledge support within the PDE team when issues occur in the field or in the plants.
  10. Manage day-to-day operational aspects of the project(s).
  11. Ensure each stage under their responsibility is progressing on time, on budget, and to the right quality standards.
  12. Collaborate effectively with the PDE team, and site Quality & Operational teams across the business.
  13. Develop and manage supplier frameworks, both local and outsourced.
  14. Create and manage timelines using project management tools.
  15. Ensure project documents are complete, current, and appropriately stored.
About You

We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced Design and Development Engineer who possesses a strong educational background and relevant experience in the Plastic Packaging or Food & Beverage Industries.

  1. A degree in a relevant field, such as engineering or product design.
  2. Experience in product design and development methodology.
  3. Familiarity with SolidWorks or other 3D design packages.
  4. Experience with project management tools, including MS Project and Smartsheets.
  5. Direct work experience in project support and implementation.
  6. Direct work experience in plastic processing and Injection moulding operating and set up.
  7. Knowledge of Injection Moulding Tools, particularly construction and design formats.
  8. Excellent organizational, planning, and time management skills.
  9. Flexibility and ability to travel for extended periods to other facilities and suppliers.

A good standard of spoken and written English is essential, and a second language such as German or Czech would be beneficial.
