Job Summary

The Quality Manager will be responsible for overseeing the quality management system, ensuring compliance and continuous improvement of processes. This role requires a strong background in quality assurance, with experience in ISO 13485 and other relevant standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the quality department and communicate expectations to team members.
  • Lead external audits and ensure adherence to ISO 13485 standards.
  • Update and improve the Quality Management System to meet regulatory requirements.
  • Provide guidance to non-quality staff on quality procedures and protocols.
  • Set and enforce quality standards and guidelines to ensure compliance.
  • Identify and resolve non-conformances in a timely and effective manner.
  • Implement automated testing systems to enhance quality control.
  • Review and ensure compliance with production instructions and quality procedures.
  • Maintain cleanliness and traceability in production areas to prevent contamination.
  • Oversee goods in and out operations to ensure accurate inventory management.

Ideal Candidate

  • Over 5 years' experience in a supervisory quality role, preferably in the medical field.
  • Knowledge of ISO 13485, UKCA, and MDR standards, with experience in ISO quality systems (9001, 13485).
  • Engineering background with metalwork and plastic components, with internal auditor training in ISO standards.
  • Self-motivated with strong attention to detail, proficient in computer applications, and experience in SME environments.

Additional Duties

  • Collaborate closely with directors and staff to ensure quality compliance and contribute to the overall success of production and quality initiatives.
  • Perform other related tasks as required to support the quality management system.
