Position Overview

About the Opportunity

Optamor is seeking a skilled Financial Project Specialist to join our dynamic team.

Key Responsibilities:

- Develop and assess financial plans utilizing actual performance metrics, historical budget data, projected revenues, and expenditure reports.
- Oversee various financial analyses, including cost distribution, establishment of cost management systems, data gathering, financial oversight, and report generation.
- Ensure that cost distribution adheres to established protocols and corporate guidelines.
- Facilitate formal reporting for both long-term and short-term financial strategies.
- Evaluate financial data and create detailed financial reports.
- Assist in ensuring project timelines are met by adhering to established protocols, schedules, and work plans.
- Generate monthly and quarterly financial visualizations and project lifecycle reports.
- Conduct labor assessments and detailed analyses of booking levels, demand forecasts, and spending patterns.
- Monitor and evaluate program expenditures and Earned Value Management (EVM) performance, identifying issues, concerns, and trends.
- Collaborate with various program and financial management teams to ensure compliance with company and program processes.

Essential Qualifications:

- Proven experience in an accounting capacity.
- Professional certification (finalist or recently qualified) in CIMA, ACCA, ACA (or equivalent) along with relevant industry experience.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities, capable of engaging with senior management.
- High level of proficiency in Microsoft Excel for financial modeling.

Preferred Skills:

- Familiarity with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) software, particularly SAP.
- Previous experience in financial or business management within large-scale development or defense programs.
- Background in Project Management.
- Strong analytical thinking and application of cost analysis and management principles.
- Self-motivated individual with outstanding interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and tasks effectively.
- Capacity to work autonomously with minimal supervision.
- Understanding of Earned Value Management (EVM) methodologies.
- Knowledge of rate structures and their formulation.
