Research Software Engineer (Machine Learning)

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Research Software Engineer to join our team at the Department of Computer Science, University of Oxford. This is a cross-disciplinary project between the Departments of Computer Science and Biology, and the successful post-holder will be working on the NERC funded Morphocam project.

The successful candidate will research, adapt, and exploit existing deep learning models and frameworks to build an efficient and user-friendly processing pipeline. You will need extensive experience in machine learning frameworks (e.g., PyTorch/TensorFlow) and ML-ops for scaling systems into production.

As a Senior Research Software Engineer (Machine Learning), you will work closely with field biologists to understand their needs and problems. You will be independent and self-driven, with a clear approach to project management and delivery.

  • Research experience in computer vision and deep learning or similar is required.
  • Experience in software engineering development is essential.
