General Accounting Manager

About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced General Ledger Accounting Manager to join our team at Aviva. As a key member of our General Ledger Accounting and Control team, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality general ledger close processes, operating the financial control framework, and ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage a team of 3, acting in accordance with Aviva's leadership expectations and standards.
- Run the general ledger close process, ensuring all transactions are accounted for accurately and within the agreed timetable.
- Review the trading result to the UK Health, presenting this to the CFO monthly, working closely with Health Finance Business Partners.
- Support key reporting periods by providing additional disclosures for group, statutory, and solvency reporting.
- Produce and review audit deliverables for the team, working closely with external auditors and financial reporting teams.
- Receive and review the outputs of the production of balance sheet reconciliation, ensuring appropriate review and governance is in place.
Requirements:
- Strong Excel and analytical skills.
- Flexible to changing environments and the ability to prioritize workload effectively for both you and the team.
- Excellent communications and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with other areas of the business.
- Starting salary Circa £50,000 (depending on location, skills, experience, and qualifications).
- Bonus opportunity – 10% of annual salary (actual amount depends on performance and Aviva's).
