About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled RAN and Spectrum Strategy Expert to join our team at Virgin Media O2. As a key member of our Radio Access Network (RAN) Technology strategy and Architecture Strategy Team, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the strategic technical direction of our mobile network technology strategy.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement RAN and spectrum strategies to drive business growth and innovation.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and prioritize technology initiatives and investments.
  • Provide expert advice on RAN and spectrum technologies, including 3GPP RAN technologies, mobile spectrum principles, and radio traffic analysis.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and developments, and apply this knowledge to inform our technology strategy.
  • Work closely with our Subject Matter Experts to ensure alignment and consistency across our technology strategy.

Requirements

  • Deep understanding and relevant practical experience with 3GPP RAN technologies, including LTE, LTE-Advanced, 5G, and 5G advanced.
  • Deep understanding and relevant practical experience of mobile spectrum principles, management techniques, and radio traffic analysis.
  • Deep understanding and relevant practical experience with radio wave propagation principles, theories, and its application in mobile coverage prediction.
  • Deep understanding of the relevant global and UK spectrum assignment process and regulations framework, standardisation bodies governing allocation and use of mobile spectrum.
