Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Commissioning Engineer to join our team. As a Commissioning Engineer, you will be responsible for ensuring the successful deployment of wireless networks and associated equipment. Your primary focus will be on commissioning remote sites onto the Wifinity core network, performing quality assessments, and making on-site network changes to improve or upgrade products and services.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Commissioning remote site core network infrastructure, including circuits, onto the Wifinity network
  2. Ensuring that core, distribution, and end-device equipment work in accordance with their specification, design, and standards
  3. Bringing onto the network various elements such as radio links, PON fibre distribution, fibre or copper cabling, access points, microtiks, antennas, satellites, modules, etc.
  4. Creating and carrying out test procedures, including cabling, wireless, and product testing
  5. Investigating problems, diagnosing, and repairing faults; troubleshooting
  6. Liaising with Installation teams and Project Managers; providing reports on status of works on site
  7. Keeping records of changes or works performed
  8. Ensuring new or added hardware and services are on the company monitoring system and fully ready for Service Transition into Operations
  9. Maintaining in-depth, current knowledge of equipment
  10. Maintaining workflow process reports with back-office support
  11. Providing technical support
  12. Ensuring safe working conditions
  13. Training Field Engineering staff where appropriate
Requirements
  • Full UK driving licence
  • Ability to spend the week away from home as required and happy to travel across the UK
  • Self-assured individual, ready to take on a challenge with minimal supervision
  • Strong verbal communication and ICT skills
  • Prior experience working as a network, field, or commissioning engineer or similar within the Telecommunications sector
  • Experience in reading and interpreting network inventories, design documents, patching schedules, and other similar materials
  • Previously worked with Ruckus, Cambium, PON equipment, and devices
  • Good level of proficiency in MS Outlook, Work, Excel, and PowerPoint
