About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Digital Transformation Programme Lead to join our team at Northampton General Hospital. As a key member of our Digital Transformation and Innovation senior management team, you will be responsible for leading, delivering, and implementing complex digital programmes that support our Digital Strategy.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop, lead, and manage the delivery of programmes associated with our Group Digital Strategy, including multiple projects or initiatives of significant size, complexity, and risk.
  • Ensure the effective delivery of programmes within digital transformation and innovation, with a focus on quality, safety, and patient care.
  • Manage programme performance, including risk escalation, management, and financial control.
  • Develop business justifications, business cases, and project artefacts in collaboration with Business Unit operational teams.
  • Ensure services are continually reviewed and improved, with a focus on quality, effectiveness, and safety of care.
  • Lead and manage the digital programmes team, including service, staff, and budget.
  • Create an environment for happy, motivated, highly-performing teams.
Requirements
  • Master's level education or equivalent experience working at a senior level leading digital transformation programmes in a complex environment.
  • Proven experience of effectively managing large complex programmes from brief through to delivery, including risk management and change control.
  • Highly developed, specialist knowledge and experience of managing a range of complex project and programme activities to formulate plans and strategies that have effect across multiple services or organisations.
  • Proven experience of managing prioritisation process and associated dependencies across significant, complex programme of work.
  • Proven experience in development of programme assurance, governance, and standards.
  • Track record in successfully delivering major operational service improvement initiatives demonstrated by quantifiable metrics.
  • Experience in resource management - managing workload priorities across multi-functional teams.
  • High-level awareness of Board-level working in a complex and changing organisation.
  • Experience of line managing staff, including staff development and recruitment.
  • Experience delivering presentations to a range of stakeholders, including large groups.
  • Experience leading, motivating, managing, and developing high-performing teams.
  • Experience of working with a wide range of stakeholders using different approaches relevant to the audience of strategic thinking.
  • Budget management experience.

  • Experience of working within the NHS.
  • Experience and understanding of agile methodology and thinking.
