Position Summary

In response to growth, the Security Operations Center Lead will manage the operations of the 24/7 Security Operations Center (SOC), ensuring compliance with policies, standards, and security best practices. This role carries significant visibility and accountability for the efficient functioning of the SOC, including report generation, incident monitoring and response, communication, and training. The position also entails driving process improvements, fostering collaboration across teams, maintaining relationships with internal and external stakeholders, and supervising staff. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Key Responsibilities:

  • Formulate strategies for incident monitoring, management, and detection analysis.
  • Oversee personnel shift schedules.
  • Supervise a team of Level 2 and Level 3 analysts.
  • Lead, coach, and mentor the security operations team.
  • Manage Security Incident Management processes.
  • Monitor and optimize security systems.
  • Deploy and maintain security sensors and tools.
  • Contribute to strategic planning and operational success.
  • Develop security policies and procedures (e.g., Run Book, Incident Management Plans).
  • Ensure the implementation of controls, policies, and procedures.
  • Oversee daily, weekly, and event reporting.
  • Manage the identification and response to security breaches.
  • Develop and assess aggregated performance metrics.
  • Facilitate coordination and communication between support and business functions.

Required Skills and Experience:

  • Proven expertise in one or more areas of cyber security.
  • Experience in leadership roles within complex IT environments, preferably in security.
  • Knowledge of cyber security policies and standards in regulated environments.
  • Formal training or certification in cyber security specialization.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with a strong ability to build professional relationships.
  • Commitment to talent development, training, and coaching to retain key security personnel.
  • Advanced security certifications or extensive formal training.

Qualifications:

Certifications such as CEH, CND, SIEM (ACSE), OSCP, CCSA, OCSP, ECSA, LPT are preferred.

A minimum of 10 years of experience in Information Security or related IT roles with increasing responsibilities.

At least 5 years of experience in designing and implementing cyber security or IT solutions within complex or regulated environments.
