Job Summary
We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Support Worker to join our team at Beechwood College. As a Support Worker, you will play a vital role in supporting individuals with Autism, Learning Disabilities, or Challenging Behaviour to live fulfilling lives.
Key Responsibilities
- Encourage individuals to participate in activities and follow their interests, promoting independence and autonomy.
- Coordinate scheduled activities, using personalized rotas and liaising with colleagues to ensure facilitated activities and appointments are attended.
- Support individuals with their personal care, promoting dignity and respect.
- Encourage individuals to develop proactive strategies to maintain their emotional wellbeing and mental health.
- Ensure accurate and up-to-date records, including incident forms, daily notes, and finance records.
Requirements
- Excellent communication and listening skills, with the ability to support individuals with varying communication needs.
- Knowledge, experience, or desire to support individuals with Autism, Learning Disabilities, or Challenging Behaviour.
- Good basic comprehension of the English language, including basic literacy and numerical skills.
- Ongoing commitment to personal development and training.
