Job Summary

The GP Assistant will provide clinical and administrative support to our General Practitioners, enabling them to focus on patient care. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing routine administrative and clinical tasks, including:

  • Sorting clinical post and prioritizing tasks for the GP
  • Extracting information from clinical letters and adding to patient records
  • Arranging appointments, referrals, and follow-up appointments
  • Preparing patients for GP consultations and performing basic assessments
  • Testing urine, taking blood pressure, ECGs, and phlebotomy
  • Completing basic administration tasks, such as signing documents and explaining treatment procedures
  • Supporting the GP with immunizations and wound care

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A good standard of education, including GCSE Maths and English A to C
  • Experience working with the general public and in an NHS setting, preferably in Primary Care
  • Understanding of community services and personalized care
  • Experience managing a complex administrative role
