About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated GP Assistant to join our team at Mendip Country Practice. As a GP Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting the smooth running of our GP clinics, allowing our GPs to focus on patient care.

Key Responsibilities

  • Sort clinical post and prioritize tasks for the GP
  • Extract information from clinical letters and add to patient records
  • Arrange appointments, referrals, and tests for patients
  • Prepare patients for GP consultations and perform basic assessments
  • Conduct phlebotomy, take blood pressure, and perform ECGs
  • Complete basic administration tasks for the GP
  • Support the GP with immunizations and wound care

Requirements

  • Good standard of education - GCSE Maths and English A to C
  • Experience working with the general public and in an NHS setting
  • Understanding of community services and personalized care
  • Experience managing a complex administrative role
