About Us
The All-weather Lifeboat Centre is the RNLI's dedicated facility for boat construction, repair, and refurbishment located in Poole. Our mission is to ensure that every lifeboat is built and maintained to the highest standards.
We are currently looking for skilled Marine Engineers / Mechanics to join our team as we embark on a comprehensive schedule of lifeboat refurbishments.

Role Overview
As a Marine Technician, your responsibilities will include the refurbishment and repair of existing All Weather Lifeboats. This encompasses modifications, maintenance, disassembly and reassembly of vessels, as well as diagnostics of mechanical systems such as engines, propulsion, hydraulics, and fuel systems. You will collaborate with fellow team members to ensure tasks are executed in a systematic and professional manner, with a multi-skilled approach being highly valued.
The All-weather Lifeboat Centre provides a clean, organized, and safe working environment, with all necessary tools, materials, and personal protective equipment supplied to facilitate your work.
Candidate Profile
Candidates must be proficient in interpreting engineering drawings and adhering to standardized procedures safely and efficiently. You will work as part of a diverse team to ensure that lifeboats are constructed and refurbished within set timelines and budgets, while meeting the RNLI's rigorous quality standards.
A relevant City and Guilds or NVQ level 3/BTEC qualification, along with a time-served apprenticeship or equivalent experience, is essential.
Previous experience in boat production, marine refurbishments, and repairs, as well as familiarity with laminating and epoxy composite materials, is advantageous.
