Position Overview

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform position evaluations and establish suitable classifications and salary levels for new roles and reclassifications.
  • Analyze salary surveys and assess the university's compensation against market benchmarks to ensure competitive alignment.
  • Conduct annual job benchmarking and provide insights on grade adjustments and salary structure modifications.
  • Collaborate with departments to draft and finalize new job descriptions as required.
  • Deliver information, training, and recommendations on market trends, analysis, and compensation data to supervisors and administration, ensuring adherence to established policies and legal standards.
  • Authorize electronic personnel action forms and act as a consultant to the HR team in resolving issues.
  • Serve as a resource for university staff in addressing Human Resources inquiries.
  • Assist in the development, execution, and oversight of new and existing compensation and classification programs and processes.
  • Conduct research to stay informed about current compensation and classification laws, regulations, and best practices.
  • Participate in committees or teams aimed at enhancing processes or services.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  • A minimum of four years of experience in Human Resources or a bachelor's degree coupled with relevant Human Resources experience.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Proficient in analyzing and interpreting extensive datasets to identify compensation trends.
  • Strong statistical analysis skills and familiarity with tools such as Excel or HR analytics platforms.
  • Comprehensive understanding of labor laws, tax regulations, and compliance standards related to compensation.
  • Excellent communication skills to clearly convey compensation policies and practices to diverse stakeholders.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment.
  • Capacity to exercise independent judgment and manage confidential information responsibly.
  • Meticulous attention to detail in analyzing and documenting compensation data to ensure accuracy and compliance.
  • Ability to interpret, analyze, and provide guidance on the application of laws related to compensation and classification.
  • Proficient in managing multiple projects, prioritizing tasks, and meeting deadlines.

Salary Information

The minimum salary for this position is $50,000, commensurate with experience, along with an excellent benefits package.
