At Babcock International Group, we are dedicated to fostering a secure and efficient environment, and as a Senior Project Controller, you will play a pivotal role at our Bristol or Corsham locations.

Key Responsibilities

In the capacity of Senior Project Controller, you will engage in unique and impactful work. Your primary responsibility will be to oversee the project control elements within significant defense initiatives, from inception through to completion. This encompasses the formulation and execution of robust project control strategies, including schedule revisions, cost projections, and variance assessments to ensure adherence to the approved financial and scheduling frameworks.

Your daily activities will involve close collaboration with program teams to generate cost and schedule estimates and forecasts, while identifying potential risks and discrepancies that could affect the Estimate to Complete (ETC). Additionally, you will assess and manage the financial and scheduling repercussions of any alterations in project scope, requirements, or objectives, updating forecasts as necessary.

  • Support project teams in all facets of Project Cost Management
  • Prepare and present all essential internal and external project control documentation and reports
  • Maintain the integrated master schedule, providing guidance on critical paths and schedule-related challenges
  • Contribute to the creation and management of Control Account Plans, including establishing bases for estimates and cost-related assumptions
  • Gather, organize, and present necessary data to facilitate Earned Value Management (EVM) reporting
  • Provide input for Cost Risk Analysis (CRA)
  • Coordinate and develop project/program expenditure forecasts, cost reconciliations, and variance analyses
  • Coordinate and develop project work-in-progress (WIP), commitments, and estimate at completion (EAC) forecasts

This is a full-time role, requiring 37 hours per week, with hybrid working arrangements available.

Essential Qualifications and Experience

  • This position is ideal for candidates with a background in project management and controls, seeking a new direction, as well as those with existing project controller experience.
  • Significant experience in the advanced application of Project Management methodologies within a relevant technical project context across the entire project lifecycle
  • Prior experience with complex defense and/or engineering projects/programs is advantageous, though not mandatory
  • Familiarity with SRA/CRA and EVM methodologies

Security Clearance
