About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Project Manager to join our team at Transport for the North. As a key member of our project delivery team, you will be responsible for managing the delivery of large and complex projects, or programmes of work, to support the delivery of the Trans-Pennine Route Upgrade (TRU).

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage the delivery of large and complex projects, or programmes of work, to support the delivery of the TRU.
  • Lead a project team or teams and ensure all work and outputs are executed to meet requirements.
  • Work with senior internal and external stakeholders and partners to ensure delivery against project needs and objectives.
  • Ensure all work and outputs are executed to meet requirements, taking into consideration interdependencies between your work and other programmes of work.
  • Manage financial resources and ensure cost management is key to the success of the project.
  • Work in partnership with a range of stakeholders, including project sponsors, customers, and other stakeholders.
Requirements
  • Proven experience in managing large and complex multi-stakeholder projects.
  • Ability to work to tight deadlines and meet operational targets.
  • Knowledge of the rail industry, including timetabling and access planning.
  • Ability to deliver excellent customer experience during periods of disruption.
  • Financial management skills, with an emphasis on cost management.
  • Professional qualification in project or programme management.
