Disability Services Manager

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced professional to oversee the operational management of Short Breaks schemes for children and young people with disabilities and additional needs across Surrey and West Sussex.
Key Responsibilities:- Assist with staff recruitment and talent acquisition to attract diverse and skilled staff from local communities.
- Onboard new disability sessional staff, providing comprehensive induction, role-specific training, and ongoing development to enhance workforce retention.
- Collaborate with the Volunteer Coordinator to expand the use of volunteers across Disability Services, promoting inclusivity and community engagement.
- Provide line management for a team of Disability Short Breaks Coordinators, ensuring effective leadership and support.
- Ensure the meaningful participation of children and young people in the planning, design, delivery, and evaluation of short break services, upholding their rights and dignity.
- Liaise with local partners, stakeholders, and the statutory sector to enhance service coherence, range, reach, and quality, fostering strong relationships and partnerships.
- Prepare reports and statistical data as requested by the Disability Services Manager, providing valuable insights and recommendations.
- Attend staff meetings, training, and development events to ensure continuous professional competence and development, staying up-to-date with best practices and industry trends.
- Operate in accordance with policies and procedures for health and safety, equality, diversity, and inclusion, risk assessment, and safeguarding to provide a safe and healthy working environment, upholding the highest standards of professionalism.
- Proven experience in operational management, preferably within disability services, with a strong track record of delivering high-quality services.
- Knowledge of safeguarding practices and policies, with a commitment to upholding the rights and dignity of children and young people.
