Swimming Pool and Sports Facilities Operations Manager

Job Summary:

Millfield School is seeking a highly motivated and experienced individual to join our team as a Swimming Pool and Sports Facilities Duty Manager. This is a full-time, all-year-round role working 35 hours per week on a rota basis covering the opening hours of both our swimming pools during days, evenings, and weekends.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead a team of lifeguards and swim teachers, ensuring the highest standards of safety and customer service.
  • Perform lifeguard duties at both the Millfield Senior Pool and Millfield Prep Pool, adhering to health and safety regulations, codes of practice, and operating procedures.
  • Supervise the Cricket Centre and Golf Centre, maintaining the facilities' cleanliness and hygiene standards.
  • Set up and dismantle equipment, ensuring efficient operations and minimizing downtime.

Requirements:

  • Valid NPLQ certification and previous experience in lifeguarding and leadership (although this is not essential).
  • Previous experience working in a busy pool setting, with a confident and outgoing demeanor, strong communication skills, excellent organizational skills, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to lead by example, with a willingness to go the extra mile to ensure tasks are carried out to the highest standard.
