Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced Social Worker to join our Out of Hours Team, working a shift pattern outside of normal hours. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing an effective and timely response to urgent notifications that identify a child or adult as vulnerable and at risk of harm.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform statutory social work functions, including Section 47 investigations, decision making, safeguarding adult investigations, and placement of children and adults in residential care.
- Complete welfare visits and checks, ensuring the safety and well-being of vulnerable individuals.
- Apply knowledge of child protection, safeguarding children and adults, early help, and care of looked-after children to practice within the Out of Hours Service.
- Keep abreast of new legislation and methods of work across Children's Services and Adult Services.
- Employ professional judgment to ensure safety while balancing rights and risks.
- Identify the need to initiate s47 children protection investigations and adult safeguarding investigations, including leading on the coordination and chairing of multi-agency strategy discussions.
