Sarah Raven Careers is a leading online gardening business, offering a wide range of products and services. We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated individual to join our Finance team as an Accounts Assistant.

About the Role

This is an excellent opportunity for a detail-oriented and organized individual to work closely with our Accountant & Finance Director. The successful candidate will be responsible for covering all aspects of accounting within a small Finance team, including prime entry, bank reconciliations, quarterly VAT, stock reconciliation, budgeting and forecasting, variance analysis, and assisting with Management Accounts preparation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Process financial transactions and maintain accurate records
  • Perform bank reconciliations and ensure accurate financial reporting
  • Manage quarterly VAT returns and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements
  • Conduct stock reconciliations and ensure accurate inventory levels
  • Assist with budgeting and forecasting, and provide financial analysis and insights
  • Perform variance analysis and identify areas for improvement
  • Assist with Management Accounts preparation and ensure timely submission
  • Provide financial support and guidance to staff members
  • Undertake ad hoc reporting and projects as required

Key Skills and Qualifications

  • Excellent knowledge and experience with Excel
