About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated Cost Estimator to join our team at Connectment. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in managing financial aspects of construction projects, ensuring that all costs are accurately assessed and controlled.

  • Key Responsibilities:
    • Assist in the preparation and pricing of tender submissions as required.
    • Ensure the timely and precise completion of monthly financial applications.
    • Review client payments against submitted applications and report on outstanding debts to the Head of Commercial, implementing strategies to minimize overdue accounts.
    • Oversee subcontractor agreements, including the management and payment of onsite labor and equipment.
    • Negotiate and finalize contractual variations with clients, ensuring accurate pricing.
    • Manage multiple projects simultaneously, maintaining oversight of all financial aspects.
    • Participate in site meetings and collaborate closely with the project team.
    • Provide mentorship and support to other members of the Commercial team.
Requirements

Essential Skills and Qualifications:

  • Degree in Quantity Surveying or a related Cost/Commercial discipline.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar capacity, particularly with major residential developers.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Proficient in IT, particularly with advanced knowledge of Excel and Bluebeam.
  • Solid commercial awareness, capable of managing a high volume of work under tight deadlines.
  • Ability to thrive under pressure, demonstrating initiative and accountability.
  • Excellent negotiation skills.
  • Experience in pricing tenders and managing contract variations.
  • Valid driving license.
