ISG is a prominent global construction expert recognized for managing extensive and complex projects across the UK. We are currently in search of a Cost Estimation Specialist with a strong background in civil engineering to aid in the development of a pharmaceutical manufacturing facility in Billingham, Stockton-on-Tees. Below are the details regarding this compelling opportunity:

Role Purpose

Accountable for overseeing the financial aspects of the project and working closely with the Senior Cost Estimator and Project Manager.

Key Responsibilities

  • To enhance the project's financial standing for ISG while fostering positive relationships with Clients.
  • Protect ISG's contractual interests by ensuring all commitments are fulfilled appropriately.
  • Ensure adherence to ISG's governance and procedural standards.
  • Take proactive responsibility for all financial procedures in collaboration with the Senior Cost Estimator.
  • Assist the Estimation Team in the valuation process as needed.
  • Ensure compliance with project insurance protocols.
  • Advise Clients and Consultants on procurement strategies and Sub-Contractor selection.
  • Prepare and oversee Bid Package Tender Schedule.
  • Participate in and, if necessary, lead meetings with the design team and Sub-Contractors.
  • Manage the change process in partnership with the extended team.
  • Ensure timely issuance of upstream Sub-Contractor certifications, valuations, and invoices.
  • Prepare ongoing final account during the project and strive for agreement at practical completion.
  • Complete the final account administration and oversee the release of retention.
  • Provide internal reporting through CVR, cash flows, and project updates.
  • Cultivate trust and effective communication with colleagues to address potential role-affecting issues.
  • Coordinate the daily project operations related to procurement and financial oversight.
  • Act as the primary liaison with the professional team and Works Contractors regarding the valuation process.
  • Mentor ACM and support staff as necessary.

Skills & Experience

  • Prior experience in a similar Cost Estimation role on major projects, ensuring timely and budget-conscious delivery at a high standard.
  • Recent experience with tender bid processes, Works Contract preparation, cost reporting, and valuation.
  • Display enthusiasm for work, commitment to excellence, and a focus on continuous improvement at both personal and divisional levels.
  • Profound understanding and interpretation of various Contract forms.
  • Show skill in establishing and nurturing relationships, as well as identifying new business opportunities.
  • Demonstrate strong organizational skills, time management, delegation abilities, and attention to detail.
  • Actively engage in knowledge sharing and support for colleagues.
  • Maintain composure and focus during challenging situations.
  • Take full accountability for actions, decisions, and role responsibilities.

Qualifications

  • Possess a recognized qualification in Quantity Surveying or a related field with relevant experience.
