Job Title: Principal Electromagnetic Compatibility Engineer

Job Summary:

  • Develop and manage system requirements and acceptance criteria to ensure compliance with relevant standards.
  • Provide technical guidance to design teams on electromagnetic compatibility requirements and design considerations.
  • Collaborate with EMC test engineers to design and specify testing regimes to prove system compliance.
  • Design and implement system mitigation to meet electromagnetic standards.
  • Mentor and coach engineers within the team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain system requirements and acceptance criteria.
  • Provide technical guidance to design teams on electromagnetic compatibility requirements.
  • Collaborate with EMC test engineers to design and specify testing regimes.
  • Design and implement system mitigation to meet electromagnetic standards.
  • Mentor and coach engineers within the team.

Requirements:

  • BEng (Hons) / MEng or equivalent qualification.
  • Professional registration at Chartered level or evidence of working towards this.
  • Experience of design for electromagnetic compatibility compliance.
  • Knowledge of electromagnetic defence standards would be an advantage.
  • Proven experience and ability to coach others in a team.

About the Team:

Working within Electrical Engineering (EMC), you will be responsible for providing support to the Engineering Manager and/or external specialists in providing transversal support to engineering delivery teams in defining electromagnetic requirements and undertaking specialist testing of systems, sub-systems, and components in support of achieving contractual compliance for EMC design.
