Job Summary:

  • Develop and manage requirements and acceptance criteria specific to a system, platforms or programmes
  • Provide technical guidance to design teams on electromagnetic compatibility requirements and design considerations
  • Liaise with EMC test engineers to design and specify testing regimes to prove system compliance against relevant standards
  • Design and implement system mitigation to meet electromagnetic standards
  • Mentor and coach Engineers within the team

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain technical expertise in electromagnetic compatibility
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure electromagnetic compatibility is integrated into system design
  • Develop and implement testing plans to ensure system compliance with electromagnetic standards
  • Provide technical guidance and support to Engineers within the team
  • Contribute to the development of electromagnetic compatibility standards and guidelines

Requirements:

  • BEng (Hons) / MEng or equivalent qualification
  • Professional registration at Chartered level or evidence of working towards this
  • Experience of design for electromagnetic compatibility
  • Knowledge of electromagnetic defence standards would be an advantage
  • Proven experience and ability to coach others in a team

About the Team:

Working within Electrical Engineering (EMC), you will be responsible for providing support to the Engineering Manager and/or external specialists in providing transversal support to engineering delivery teams in defining electromagnetic requirements and undertaking specialist testing of systems, sub systems and components in support of achieving contractual compliance for electromagnetic design.
