IT Services Operations Manager

Position Overview:
A distinguished Arts University located in a vibrant urban setting is in search of an IT Support Manager for a full-time permanent position. This esteemed institution focuses on the arts and accommodates approximately 600 students across two campuses.
Compensation:
The role offers a competitive starting salary of £50,942 per annum, complemented by an attractive benefits package that includes a leading pension scheme and 36 days of annual leave. The position will primarily be based onsite, with the possibility of remote work one day per week.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the Service Desk operations for both campuses and manage relationships with third-party service providers.
- Monitor and report on existing services to enhance the IT & AV Support Service.
- Provide professional and technical leadership to the IT Helpdesk team, with a dotted line to the AV Support team.
- Establish service standards and develop unified systems and processes based on industry best practices.
- Ensure the IT & AV Support Service is efficient, effective, and adaptable to evolving needs.
- Collaborate with the Project Manager and IT Operations Manager to deliver IT projects.
- Offer technical, project, and administrative support to the Head of Information Services, Systems & Technology.
- Administer Active Directory and Entra user and service accounts.
- Manage software licensing for all products and subscriptions.
- Assist in the procurement and invoicing of hardware, software, and consumables.
- Maintain and manage IT asset information.
- Ensure documentation and alerts are updated and accessible on the IT Services Hub.
- Oversee increased IT service delivery to support new and returning students during peak periods.
Candidate Profile:
- Degree-level qualification; ITIL certification is desirable.
- Demonstrated experience in leading and developing an effective IT Support team and helpdesk service in a complex environment, including setting targets and identifying training needs.
- Strong technical knowledge of various hardware and software technologies, including Windows, desktop PCs, laptops, mobile devices, printers, Microsoft OS, Mac OS, Microsoft Active Directory, M365, and Adobe.
- Recent experience in a Service Delivery role, managing IT support tickets, setting KPIs, and overseeing third-party suppliers.
- Experience or interest in the higher education, arts, or charity sectors is advantageous.
