The AESA CDT is a multifaceted engineering group dedicated to Systems, Electronics, Firmware, and Mechanical engineering tasks. This team comprises over 70 engineers and is committed to creating innovative solutions for essential product components, enhancing development processes, leveraging specialized expertise, and promoting product reusability.

The AESA CDT Lead will be tasked with supervising the team's initiatives in crafting a variety of engineering solutions, ranging from chipset designs to comprehensive product offerings. This role necessitates close collaboration with IPT leadership, procurement, and manufacturing divisions to guarantee the effective delivery of specialized radar system solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the multidisciplinary AESA CDT to ensure timely and budget-compliant delivery of engineering solutions
  • Formulate and execute a strategy for antenna technology advancement in partnership with the CTO
  • Spot opportunities for technological progress to uphold a competitive edge in AESA design
  • Build relationships with key suppliers and comprehend vital supply chain components
  • Coordinate development efforts with clients and suppliers across various sectors and product lines
  • Manage team workload, assess engineering risks, and ensure compliance with engineering standards
  • Assist Project Engineering Leads in program reporting regarding cost and schedule performance

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Degree in an engineering discipline
  • Chartered Engineer registration with a relevant Professional Body
  • Full SC clearance
  • Proven track record in delivering intricate engineering solutions
  • Strong leadership capabilities within a team environment
  • Preferred experience in RF/Microwave, Packaging, and PCA design
  • Familiarity with semiconductor wafer foundry processes and component manufacturing

The ideal candidate will possess a technical background with proficiency in radar systems development and antenna technology. This position provides the chance to lead a vibrant engineering team and contribute to pioneering technology solutions for airborne systems.
