Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Nurse Specialist to join our team at Ann's Care Homes. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional care and support to our residents.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure adherence to the National Health Service (NHS) Code of Conduct and the Care Quality Commission (CQC) standards in all areas of care and practice.
  • Ensure the well-being and dignity of all residents, promoting their independence, choice, and rights.
  • Liaise with residents' families, healthcare professionals, and other stakeholders to ensure comprehensive care and support.
  • Take the lead in nursing, ensuring that the nursing and personal care of residents is maintained on a daily basis, tailored to their individual needs and requirements.
  • Liaise with senior management and other team members to address any issues that may arise.
  • Promote and encourage personal independence and choice in daily living and activities.
  • Participate in training activities to enhance skills and knowledge, ensuring effective and safe practice.
  • Provide a stimulating and attractive environment for residents.
  • Put residents at the heart of all we do.
Essential Criteria
  • Registered Nurse Qualification.
  • Evidence of ongoing continuing professional development linked to clinical competencies.
  • 6 months post-registration experience.
  • Experience in coordinating and managing residents' care.
  • Previous experience working with residents with dementia.
  • Experience in handling clinical incidents and complaints.
  • Good knowledge of the Health and Social Care Act 2008.
  • Ability to undertake duties in accordance with relevant legislative requirements.
  • Understanding of professional and current issues in care.
  • Effective leadership and organizational skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Good problem-solving skills.
  • Able to work independently and manage a workload.
  • Ability to delegate and prioritize tasks.
  • Safe administration of medication.
  • Basic IT skills.
  • A genuine interest in meeting the care needs of people with dementia and physical frailties.
  • Affective time management.
  • Motivated, enthusiastic, and committed.
  • Takes responsibility for own actions and promotes good team working.
  • Shares information and good practice appropriately.
  • A flexible approach to work.
  • Treats others with courtesy and respect at all times.
