Job Title: Bank Chef

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Bank Chef to join our team at Barchester Healthcare, a leading healthcare provider in the UK. As a Bank Chef, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality, nutritious, and well-balanced meals to our residents while working in a more balanced work environment compared to a typical restaurant or hotel setting.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Assist the Head Chef in creating menus that cater to the dietary needs of our residents
  • Work with fresh seasonal produce to deliver high-quality and wholesome dishes cooked at the highest standards
  • Help manage the kitchen in the Head Chef's absence, ensuring that the highest standards of quality and safety are maintained
  • Lead and motivate a team of kitchen staff to deliver exceptional service and quality
  • Work within budget and manage stock control to ensure efficient use of resources
Requirements:
  • A personable and warm approach with a genuine interest in the wellbeing of residents
  • Hold City & Guilds/NVQ/SVQ or equivalent qualification in culinary arts
  • Experience in helping lead and inspire a team
  • A good understanding of nutrition and working with fresh seasonal food
  • The ability to create a warm and welcoming environment within our home
  • A good understanding of HACCP and food safety protocols
