Job Title: Fund Taxation Manager

SS&C Financial Services International Limited is seeking a highly skilled Fund Taxation Manager to join our team. As a Fund Taxation Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring all taxation activities relating to funds are accounted for correctly in line with the NAVs.

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to work with a leading specialist in integrated investment management and fund solutions. You will be working directly with one of our client partners, a leading specialist in integrated investment management and fund solutions, based in Bolton. Your primary responsibility will be to ensure all taxation activities relating to funds are accounted for correctly in line with the NAVs.

Your Responsibilities
  1. Quarterly tax reviews – review the Funds tax positions that are calculated for the NAV.
  2. Completion of relevant overseas tax forms for the Funds to enable treaty tax rates to be applied, most of these are reviewed and completed on an annual basis.
  3. Assistance with furnishing custodians, depositaries and third parties such as brokers with any tax or legal documentation required to process the Funds taxation requirements.
  4. Manage the relationship with the funds tax agents and liaise with the corresponding custodial overseas agent.
  5. Review and chase outstanding WHT reclaims across all funds, reconcile positions at XD's between fund records and custodial reports.
  6. Daily review of acquisitions of funds holdings in offshore funds between reporting and non-reporting funds and ensure that set up is correct for tax purposes.
  7. Regular review, in conjunction with work carried out by other teams, of excess reportable income being declared and correct inclusion of such in the NAVs.
  8. Assist internal stakeholders such as Pricing and Project teams with queries relating to Fund taxation such as WHT queries and Fund launches.
  9. Assist with any HMRC enquiries, liaise with HMRC as required including filing of appeal letters.
Your Experience
  1. Qualifications in tax (ATT, CTA, qualified or part qualified ACCA, ACA or CIMA)
  2. Proven ability and a strong level of experience of working in all aspects of taxation.
  3. Strong numerical skills.
  4. Strong attention to detail.
  5. Accurate data inputting skills.
  6. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  7. Ability to problem solve and deal with complex queries.
  8. Ability to prioritise & work to strict deadlines.
  9. Highly level of MS Office suite skills and online capability.
