English Teacher Opportunity in Oldham

We are seeking a qualified English teacher to join our team at a successful 11-16 academy in Oldham. As a temporary supply teacher, you will be responsible for teaching English Language and Literature to GCSE students.

About the Role

This is a full-time temporary supply teaching role, covering a sickness absence on a week-by-week basis. The ideal candidate will have calm and confident behaviour management skills, as well as the ability to adapt lessons to a broad range of abilities, beliefs, and cultures.

The academy is interested in hearing from early career teachers or experienced QTS teachers or FE lecturers with experience of teaching AQA GCSE English to students aged 11 to 16.

About the School

The school is a successful 11-16 academy in Oldham, Ofsted graded Good since April 2016. The Principal takes managing the well-being and workload of staff extremely seriously, having taken steps to reduce unnecessary burdens and bureaucracy.

The school is easily accessible on public transport links and offers a supportive positive working environment for trainee teachers and early career teachers.

Requirements
  • Hold QTS Status or QTLS or equivalent further education qualifications such as PGCE14+ or PGCEFE
  • This position is subject to an Enhanced DBS Disclosure, Overseas Police Clearances (if applicable) and professional references checks
  • Provide a CV with full employment/education history included and any employment breaks must be explained
  • Have the legal right to work full time in the UK with no restrictions
