Job Title: PostgreSQL Database Administrator

Job Summary:

TalentSource International is seeking a highly skilled PostgreSQL Database Administrator to join our team. As a key member of our technology team, you will be responsible for managing the performance of our SaaS platform and working closely with our CTO, engineering, and QA teams to define our relational data strategy.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Database Management: Report to the CTO to plan, coordinate, execute, and direct database management, tuning, and optimization to ensure ongoing performance and scalability of our SaaS platform.
  • Cloud Database Strategy: Create and maintain a cloud product and database strategy for both analytical and transactional data processing.
  • Database Maintenance: Design and implement database maintenance procedures.
  • Database Configuration: Configure, monitor, and improve PostgreSQL databases.
  • Database Backup and Recovery: Design and implement database backup and disaster recovery procedures.
  • Troubleshooting: Troubleshoot database performance and data issues.
  • Collaboration: Assist development teams with database design and ensure database security best practices.

Requirements:

  • Experience: 4+ years of experience in managing PostgreSQL databases in a production environment.
  • Database Tuning: 2 years of experience in database tuning and DBA roles.
  • Education: Degree in Computer Science or similar.
  • Skills: Experience working in a high-volume transaction environment and supporting large production database environments.
  • Collaboration: Experience working collaboratively with application development teams to implement solutions.
  • Technical Skills: Strong knowledge of SQL and database-related technologies.
  • Cloud Experience: Experience with Shell scripting, Linux, Amazon AWS, and RDS.
