Procurement Lead Overview

Key Responsibilities
- Oversee supply chain efficiency and collaborate with Operations and Quality teams to meet performance targets.
- Source a variety of custom-engineered and standard products utilizing Just-In-Time methodologies.
- Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders, providing updates and feedback to the supply chain.
- Utilize MRP and EBQ systems to enhance procurement processes.
- Work in partnership with departments such as Goods In, Engineering, Operations, and Sales.
- Develop and strengthen long-term supplier partnerships, focusing on balancing cost and quality to seize market opportunities.
- Identify potential project risks and implement strategies to mitigate delays.
- Manage procurement activities using Sage 200 software.
- Issue purchase orders, ensuring compliance with budgetary constraints and agreed timelines.
- Promote continuous improvement within the Procurement and Goods In functions.
- Assist the Operations Manager with daily procurement and goods in tasks.
Position Requirements
- CIPS qualification is preferred.
- Demonstrated commercial acumen and negotiation expertise.
- Prior experience in the Engineering sector is highly advantageous.
- Strong grasp of supply chain management principles and analytical skills.
Compensation and Benefits
The salary for this position is competitive and commensurate with experience, typically ranging from £40,000 to £48,000.
Working hours are Monday to Friday, totaling 37.5 hours per week.
This role is office-based with the option for remote work two days a week, along with occasional travel to suppliers.
