Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Capital Accountant to join our finance team at Health Jobs UK. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for the performance of the capital accounting function, including the timely and accurate production of capital accounts, capital prioritization, planning, and forecasting, and maintenance of the Trust's fixed asset systems.

Main Responsibilities

  • Perform the capital accounting function with an annual capex spend of £40m.
  • Produce capital accounts in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Develop and maintain long-term financial models.
  • Maintain the Trust's fixed asset systems.
  • Collaborate with the finance team to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting.

Requirements

  • Detailed knowledge of current financial issues and practice.
  • Demonstrable detailed knowledge of technical accounting issues.
  • Detailed knowledge of International Financial Reporting Standards.
  • Knowledge and understanding of Lease Finance.
  • CCAB or CIMA Qualified Accountant with evidence of current membership.
  • Evidence of undertaking Continuous Professional Development (CPD).

Desirable Criteria

  • Experience of PFI accounting.
  • Experience of developing and maintaining long-term financial models.
  • In-depth knowledge of NHS Finance Policies and Guidance.
  • Up-to-date knowledge of developments in the NHS.
