Security Officer

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Security Officer to join our team at Liverpool University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. As a Security Officer, you will play a critical role in maintaining a safe and secure environment for our patients, staff, and visitors.
Key Responsibilities- Provide emergency response to incidents on all Trust premises.
- Protect staff, patients, and visitors from acts of violence and aggression, prioritizing their safety and well-being.
- De-escalate incidents of disorder and maintain accurate written records of security incidents.
- Liaise with the Police as required, including the submission of statements and preservation of evidence.
- Prevent the loss of property and conduct preliminary investigations into losses to the Trust, staff, and patients.
- Patrol Trust sites as directed by the Security Operations Manager or duty supervisor.
- Promptly respond to security systems, including intruder, personal attack, and access control alarms.
- Instigate Police response to suspicious incidents on Trust sites.
- Escort lone workers or vulnerable staff where there is an identified risk and support lone workers in line with the Trust's Lone Worker Policy.
- Maintain records in respect of all lost and found property incidents occurring within the premises.
- Operate a secure key register and monitor fire alarm systems.
- Maintain clear routes for emergency services and complete all mandatory training.
- Undertake any other duties relating to security as requested by the Security Operations Manager or duty supervisor.
We are looking for a candidate with the following qualifications and experience:
- SIA Frontline Manned Guarding qualification.
- Licence or NVQ level 2 Security qualification.
- Proven experience in the security industry, including experience in restraint techniques.
- Understanding of the Data Protection Act 1998 (personal data and CCTV).
- Competent use of two-way radio procedure.
- Ability to use Microsoft Office Word and Outlook applications.
- Good verbal communication skills and level of personal fitness that enables prolonged foot patrols and standing.
- Ability to prioritize incidents based on dynamic risk and produce evidential written reports.
