Role Overview

The Community Engagement Specialist is tasked with cultivating an exceptional environment for visitors. This role demands a profound understanding of occupiers, customers, and stakeholders, fostering meaningful connections. The Specialist will strive to create a welcoming atmosphere that resonates as a second home for individuals, making the destination an integral part of their lifestyle and community.

Core Responsibilities

Curate an inviting and vibrant atmosphere within the destination that feels like home Monitor security, cleanliness, and maintenance, ensuring any concerns are promptly addressed Maintain a visible presence, being approachable and recognizable to both occupiers and visitors Gather feedback from occupiers and visitors, presenting it in a structured manner to propose enhancements to the experience Foster knowledge sharing among occupiers to cultivate a sense of community Serve as a supportive resource for occupants, embodying a customer-centric approach and engaging in activities beyond routine operations Stay vigilant regarding security protocols and confidently report any irregularities Uphold a professional appearance in accordance with destination standards Exhibit reliability, flexibility, integrity, and a strong commitment to the destination, ensuring consistent service delivery Assist in managing and overseeing events, including problem-solving and welcoming guests Collaborate with the Occupier and Customer Manager and Marketing team to ensure effective communication regarding events and marketing initiatives Support the identification of event opportunities and generate interest in collaboration with the Occupier and Customer Manager and Marketing team Regularly check on ongoing events to ensure vendors receive attention and promote attendance among visitors Provide general administrative support to the destination management team as needed Assist with key operational platforms, including finance, health & safety, and occupier software

Focus on People

Engage actively and positively with colleagues, occupiers, and visitors to foster relationships and a community atmosphere Anticipate visitor needs and follow up to ensure expectations are met or exceeded Take ownership of responsibilities, ensuring effective collaboration and relationship building

Effective Communication

Address all inquiries efficiently, providing relevant information as needed Proactively identify and resolve issues before they escalate Collaborate closely with the management team, maintaining open communication through regular meetings to address challenges and opportunities Conduct handovers with colleagues and stakeholders as necessary during shifts Stay informed about relevant legislation, including health & safety, while maintaining security awareness Create a sense of community and enjoyment among colleagues Build effective two-way relationships with occupiers at the destination Manage occupier communications, working with all departments and clients to ensure clarity and effectiveness Meet with various representatives from retailers to understand their performance objectives and identify opportunities for support Collect turnover and trade information from occupiers Oversee customer feedback programs and utilize insights to inform service strategies Provide reports on customer and community feedback to enhance the service offering within the destination Cultivate proactive relationships with stakeholders, including local retailers, leisure operators, public services, local authorities, educational institutions, and charities. The Community Engagement Specialist will build connections to unlock unique opportunities and experiences for the destination.

Required Skills

Strong communication and interpersonal skills Excellent verbal and written communication abilities Experience in outreach initiatives is a plus Exceptional organizational and multitasking capabilities Demonstrated integrity, dependability, responsibility, accountability, self-awareness, work ethic, and empathy A passion for retail and a deep understanding of the industry (experience managing retailer relationships is advantageous) Familiarity with well-being programs Experience in managing small to medium-scale events A commitment to enhancing customer experiences Project management and operational experience Innovative thinking with a bold approach A focus on efficiency and improvement Ambitious and commercially minded
