About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Ranger to join our Countryside team at The National Trust. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for the day-to-day management of our busy Countryside sites, ensuring that we are delivering our conservation objectives, protecting our important archaeology, and providing safe access for our visitors.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead groups of volunteers and carry out practical habitat management, rights of way maintenance, fencing, and other tasks to ensure the conservation and protection of our sites.
  • Use chainsaws, brushcutters, and other tools and machinery to maintain and improve our habitats, while ensuring the highest health and safety standards.
  • Share your knowledge and passion for the countryside with visitors, providing information and insights about the natural and cultural heritage of our sites.
  • Work independently and as part of a team to achieve our conservation objectives and provide excellent customer service.
  • Manage land, access, and conservation, and work outdoors in a variety of weather conditions.
  • Use machinery and equipment safely and efficiently, with relevant certificates and training.
  • Be a driver with a full UK driving license and have access to a vehicle.
