Position Overview

We are seeking a proactive and visionary leader to promote a culture of safety across our processing facilities. This role will report to the Recycling Director and involves both strategic planning and hands-on management of health and safety initiatives.

Key ResponsibilitiesRole Summary:
  • Strategic Leadership: Develop and implement health and safety strategies that align with the organization’s goals across various locations.
  • Operational Management: Oversee daily safety operations, ensuring adherence to health and safety regulations and improving safety protocols.
Specific Duties:
  • Promote the integration of best practices in health and safety management.
  • Establish, monitor, and report on health and safety performance indicators, offering insights and action plans for improvement.
  • Supervise the Health & Safety team on a daily basis.
  • Conduct routine inspections and audits to verify compliance with safety standards.
  • Enhance health and safety management systems to comply with recognized standards.
  • Investigate incidents and lead efforts for improvement following accidents.
  • Coordinate actions in response to safety non-conformities and implement necessary corrective measures.
  • Provide comprehensive health and safety training for all employees.
  • Engage with regulatory agencies to ensure compliance and foster positive relationships.
Qualifications and Skills
  • A degree in a relevant discipline is preferred; essential qualifications include IOSH membership and NEBOSH certification.
  • Proven experience in leading health and safety initiatives and driving cultural change.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.
  • Expertise in managing complex relationships with various stakeholders.
