Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and flexible Cleaning and Catering Operative to join our team at York Teaching Hospital Facilities Management (LLP). As a key member of our facilities management team, you will be responsible for maintaining high standards of cleanliness and providing excellent catering services to our patients and staff.

Main Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Maintaining high standards of cleanliness throughout the designated area, including lifting items and operating cleaning machinery.
  • Providing a catering service on the wards, including plating up meals and making and distributing hot drinks.
  • Assisting with the distribution of meals to wards and maintaining accurate records.
  • Working independently with minimal supervision, prioritizing tasks and using initiative to meet deadlines.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to work flexibly and adapt to changing circumstances.
  • Basic understanding of cleaning procedures, COSSH procedures, infection prevention and control, and food hygiene.
  • Ability to use small and large pieces of equipment, such as regeneration ovens and floor machinery.
