About the Role

As an Avionic Systems Lead at QinetiQ, you will have a unique opportunity to work with a world-centre of excellence in research and development, driving innovation and solving complex problems in the field of avionics.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the development and implementation of avionic systems, ensuring compliance with CAA Part 21.J and MAA DOAS aviation regulations.
  • Provide technical guidance and oversight to project delivery teams, ensuring safe and compliant delivery of avionic project outputs.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and maintain professional relationships with the Project Management Office (PMO) functions.
  • Participate in robust change management throughout the project lifecycle, maintaining compliance with regulatory obligations.
  • Develop and maintain a clear plan for the future strategic roadmap, driving continuous improvement in avionic systems.

Requirements

  • Degree at Grade 2.1 or higher in an appropriate engineering subject, coupled with commensurate experience in the field of aircraft avionic systems.
  • Substantial experience of CAA Part 21.J, route to certification, and operating under Flight Test Permit to Fly basis.
  • Recognised as a subject matter expert in the field of avionics, aircraft electrical, and communication system design, with significant experience of undertaking the role of Compliance Verification Engineer (CVE) on behalf of an EASA/CAA Part 21.J organisation.
