The Supply Resilience Directorate plays a pivotal role in overseeing DHSC's initiatives related to supply management, ensuring a strategic approach in collaboration with governmental bodies, the NHS, and industry partners. Our mission is to address and mitigate disruptions in the supply of medical products and medicines while fostering long-term strategic resilience.

Role Description

We are seeking a Grade 7 Senior Policy Advisor to join the Supply Engagement and Policy team. This position offers a unique opportunity to engage in a dynamic and often fast-paced environment within the Supply Resilience Directorate, focused on ensuring the uninterrupted supply of essential medical products.

In this role, you will be responsible for:

  • Supporting initiatives aimed at identifying critical risks and developing mitigation strategies for known supply threats.
  • Leading projects that enhance supply resilience across various sectors.
  • Engaging with suppliers and industry stakeholders to promote the significance of supply resilience in broader DHSC policies.

Your primary workplace will be your designated office location, with opportunities for hybrid working arrangements. Currently, we expect a minimum of 60% of your working hours to be spent in the office to facilitate collaboration and team support.

Candidate Profile

We are looking for individuals who can:

  • Lead complex policy initiatives addressing cross-cutting supply resilience challenges.

  • Influence government-wide activities concerning health supply chains through policy documentation and briefings.
  • Deliver priority projects aligned with the Directorate's strategic goals.

  • Contribute to submissions and communications for senior leadership and policy teams.
