About the Role

A prominent player in the highways infrastructure sector is seeking a talented Proposal Specialist to become a vital part of their team on a permanent basis.


The Proposal Specialist will collaborate within a diverse team across various departments to produce comprehensive tender submissions, ensuring the organization maintains its leadership in highways services throughout the UK.


Key Responsibilities

With a keen eye for detail and a strong commitment to producing clear and effective professional documentation, the Proposal Specialist will be responsible for:

  • Analyzing tender documents and client specifications to ensure all requirements are addressed in submissions.
  • Creating, refining, and reviewing bid proposals that encompass both technical and non-technical information, along with supporting evidence.
  • Adhering to bid timelines while assisting fellow writers and team members in crafting high-quality responses.
  • Enhancing understanding of the business, its offerings, and services by reviewing past bid documents and engaging with operational, technical, and commercial teams.
  • Assisting in the development of a SharePoint-based knowledge repository.
  • Contributing to the creation of non-bid materials, such as award submissions, case studies, and newsletters.
  • Possessing an English degree or an English A-Level with a commendable score; higher qualifications in Copywriting or Journalism may also be considered.
  • Demonstrating experience in producing both technical and non-technical quality submissions, ideally within the highways sector for public sector contracts.
  • Exhibiting exceptional writing skills with a strong command of English grammar, spelling, and vocabulary.
  • Having proficient MS Word capabilities, including formatting, along with familiarity with other software such as SharePoint, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Showcasing proven experience in writing and contributing to bids and quality submissions for public sector contracts, preferably in the highways domain, though this is not a strict requirement.
