Field Service Engineer (Mechanical and Electrical Expertise)

Location: Mobile role across various regions

Full clean UK driving license is mandatory

Due to the ongoing growth and success of our facilities management services, Sodexo is seeking a skilled mechanical and electrical technician to join our Corporate Services team.

In this mobile position, you will travel to various client locations, utilizing the provided company vehicle to perform maintenance and engineering services across a diverse range of properties.

Your responsibilities will include conducting maintenance inspections, diagnosing faults, and executing upgrade and installation tasks.

You will ensure the highest standards of service delivery, addressing client inquiries, reporting any issues, and keeping clients informed during service visits.

In this dynamic and fulfilling role, you will manage planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and both proactive and reactive tasks assigned through the helpdesk, ensuring that client expectations are consistently surpassed.

All tasks must be completed in accordance with current regulations and guidelines, such as SFG20 or relevant Approved Codes of Practice (ACoP). You will be required to accurately complete all necessary documentation and maintain logs of inspections, reports, and remedial actions.

Candidate Profile

To qualify for this position, you should possess and demonstrate expertise in the following areas:

  • Proven experience as a mechanical/electrical technician with a strong focus on building services (both planned and reactive), coupled with excellent customer service skills.
  • Familiarity with strict Health & Safety protocols, including Safe Systems of Work (SSoW), risk assessments, and method statements.
  • Ability to fulfill roles such as Authorised Person or Responsible/Competent Person.
  • Hands-on experience working independently in a technical maintenance setting.
  • NVQ Level 3 or equivalent qualification in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering/Installation.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 18th Edition certification
  • IPAF / PASMA certifications
