About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Social Worker to join our Fostering Service team. As a Social Worker, you will play a crucial role in delivering a high-quality service to both carers and looked-after children and young people.

The successful candidate will have a strong background in assessment and support, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills. You will be responsible for conducting assessments, including Viability Assessments, Regulation 24 Assessments, and CPA (Connected Carer Assessments), as well as providing support and supervision to approved mainstream and connected foster carers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct assessments and provide support to foster carers
  • Work closely with potential connected carers and approved foster carers
  • Collaborate with locality colleagues and professionals from other agencies
  • Secure plans of permanency for Tameside children
  • Contribute to the wider offer for cared-for children
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A qualified Social Worker with previous work experience
  • Sound assessment skills and a robust knowledge of statutory requirements and Fostering National Minimum Standards
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • A keen eye for detail and ability to analyze information
  • Good written work, including assessments for court
