STV News is Scotland's leading news provider, serving audiences with quality content on air, online, and on demand. Our broadcast channel reaches 3 million viewers each month, while our streaming service, STV Player, is now pre-installed in three quarters of the UK's connected TV homes.

We are looking for a talented political reporter to join our Digital team to serve STV News audiences across our web and social channels. The focus of the role is to produce trusted and engaging political content on your own initiative and with news material gathered by colleagues in our wider political team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Produce high-quality political content for digital and social media channels
  • Develop a strong understanding of Scottish politics, current affairs, and social trends
  • Work in a high-volume, fast-paced daily news environment
  • Collaborate with colleagues to deliver Scotland's most engaging, trusted, and accessible news service
Requirements
  • Strong editorial judgement and awareness of legal, ethical, and regulatory considerations
  • Experience in digital publishing, including working with content management systems and social media dashboards
  • Confidence in using digital storytelling techniques to create compelling articles with text, photos, graphics, and video
  • Passionate and informed about journalism and industry trends
