Job Duties:
- Provide support to students with special educational needs (SEN) in a classroom setting.
- Assist the lead teacher in implementing individual education plans (IEPs) for students.
- Support students with their academic, social, and emotional development.
- Help create a positive and inclusive learning environment for all students.
- Collaborate with teachers and parents to monitor student progress and adjust support as needed.
Required Qualifications:
A relevant qualification in education or special educational needs.
Experience working with children or young people with SEN.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Education:
A degree or equivalent qualification in Education, Special Educational Needs, or a related field.
Experience:
Previous experience working in a similar role within an educational setting.
Knowledge and Skills:
Understanding of SEN support strategies and techniques.
Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
Patience, empathy, and a caring attitude towards students.
Preferred Qualifications:
Additional training in specific areas of SEN, such as autism or speech and language difficulties.
Certification in safeguarding children.
Working Conditions:
The role may involve some physical activity, such as assisting students with mobility issues.
Working hours may vary depending on the school's schedule and events.
The position may require occasional attendance at parent-teacher meetings or training sessions outside of normal working hours.
